EHS partners with RPI student clubs, advisors and sponsors to support safety and minimize risk associated with club activities. It is the responsibility of the student club members and their advisors to safely manage all activities and follow campus policies.

Advisors of student clubs and organizations play an essential role in the safety of these student organizations. EHS has compiled resources to assist advisors with planning, training and providing ongoing support of student organizations.
Student Clubs and Organizations must review the Student Clubs and Organizations Safety Policy to become familiar with the requirements for their Safety Program. Each Club must have a written safety program that is specific to their club's activities to ensure compliance with required EHS regulatory standards.
Student Clubs and Organizations Safety Inspection Checklist
Student Clubs that perform activities in Institute spaces, including laboratories, shops and research spaces, are required to complete routine safety inspections of their work areas. Safety inspections are recommended on a weekly basis, and must be completed at least once per month. Student Clubs should identify individuals from the club who are responsible for completing the safety inspections. This checklist should be used for the inspection and kept on file for the the Club Advisor and EHS to review.
School of Engineering (SoE) Sponsored Club Safety Requirements
EHS developed this training presentation to provide expectations and requirements for SoE sponsored clubs. Most SoE clubs require a more active role from advisors and EHS due to the nature of their projects and space requirements.
