Respiratory Protection Program

RPI follows OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.134 for all respiratory protection. The standard requires using engineering controls to reduce airborne hazards whenever possible. If those controls cannot fully protect workers, personal protective equipment—such as respirators—and other protective measures must be used.

A respirator is any device designed to protect the wearer from airborne contaminants or oxygen-deficient air. Choosing the right respirator and using it correctly is essential, and it depends on detailed knowledge of both the contaminants present and the conditions where the respirator will be worn.

Please contact EHS for more information on the Respiratory Protection Program.
