Campus Cleanout Days Continue

Campus Cleanout Days:

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Environmental & Site Services (E&SS) are partnering with the campus community to encourage cleanouts of cluttered storage areas, offices, shops, and labs. The goal is to provide support to anyone looking to get rid of old furniture, equipment, file cabinets, paper records, books, electronics, etc. that are no longer in use and are taking up space.

Current Cleanout Day Schedule:

  • July 31st Sage Labs, Walker, Carnegie (Waste containers will be staged on either side of Sage Labs)
  • August 4th CBIS (CBIS Loading Dock)
  • August 7th Academy Hall (Academy Hall Parking Lot)
  • August 14th VCC, EMPAC, Folsom Library (Behind Library)
  • August 19th Ricketts (Ricketts Loading Dock)
  • August 21st J-Building (J-Building Parking Lot)

During a Cleanout Day event, there will be an information table staffed by volunteers from your building, EHS, and E&SS. These volunteers will help you sort your waste into the appropriate collection area and be able to provide hazardous waste labels, offer tagged asset disposal guidance, and answer questions. Cleanout Days are held from 10:00am to 2:00pm often at the loading dock of the building hosting the event. Where no loading dock area is available, volunteers will direct you to the various waste collection areas based on your needs.

EHS and E&SS will provide collection areas for the most common types of clutter found on our campus including:

  • General trash roll-off container
  • General recycling container
  • Scrap metal collection area
  • Battery collection area
  • Electronic waste collection area
  • Confidential document collection area

Make the most of your event with these tips and save these disposal links to help manage your waste all year round. Check out our FAQ sheet for more detailed information on what to expect at the Cleanout Day for your building.
