The New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) conducts annual building inspections of all college and universities across the state. Inspections of RPI residential buildings will begin on September 3, 2025, and are expected to take approximately three to four weeks.

Please take time to review your living area for potential fire safety violations and correct any issues in advance. The Student Living and Learning webpage has information about prohibited items in residential buildings. The EHS webpage outlines fire prevention practices and common issues identified during state fire inspections. Your attention to fire safety helps protect our community and prevent fires on campus.
